WP4 – Development of Open-access Market Simulation Models and Tools

Description – WP4 will develop and implement the TradeRES open-access market simulation framework. Firstly, the market models are adapted to enhance temporal, spatial and sectoral flexibility; then the implementation of new actors, markets and policy options in market models takes place. This leads to the creation of an open-access linked market-model toolbox. The development process includes the identification of input, output and interfaces between models, the development of inter-model communication libraries and the integration with a model linkage toolbox. Finally, the value of variable renewable energy on the electricity markets is enhanced with advanced forecasting and ramping tools.
