DEUTSCHES ZENTRUM FUER LUFT - UND RAUMFAHRT EV

The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is the national aeronautics and space research centre of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transport, digitalisation and security is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. The Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics does research in the field of efficient energy storage systems that conserve natural resources, and next generation energy conversion technologies with a staff of 170 scientific and technical employees, engineers and doctoral candidates. The spectrum of activities ranges from theoretical studies to laboratory work for basic research and to the operation of pilot plants. These experimental and theoretical studies are accompanied by systems analysis studies to analyze the associated technological, environmental and economic potential. A tight network with the University of Stuttgart exists. The Department Energy Systems Analysis has a long-term experience in technology assessment of renewable energy technologies and in the field of techno-economic evaluation and system analysis, leading to the development of strategies for the market introduction and dissemination of new technologies, mainly in the energy and transport sector.
