EnBW is one of the largest utilities in Germany and Europe with a workforce of more than 21,000 employees. The activities range from a generation portfolio of conventional dispatchable coal and gas fired power plants, hydro power plants as well as solar, wind onshore and wind offshore capacities. With its sales and services units EnBW supplies electricity, gas, water and energy solutions and energy industry services to around 5.5 million customers. In southwestern Germany EnBWs subsidiary distribution grid operator Netze BW is operates the distribution grid in many counties and communities. Within the EnBW group, the independent transmission system operator TransnetBW is responsible for the transmission grid in Baden-Württemberg. Located in Leipzig, the subsidiary company VNG plays a major role in the German gas market with the operation of pipelines, storages and a large trading and supply activity. EnBW aims to further strengthen its position as a sustainable and innovative infrastructure partner for customers, citizens and local authorities to an even greater extent. The development and operation of telecommunication infrastructure and of infrastructure for electric mobility are part of these activities.
